2. Reference Issue Cakap [say] is often mistaken as tell because of English influence Tell in Malay

Memberitahu > Beritahu = inform/tell

Menyuruh > Suruh = tell with expectation to do sthg

3. Order issue:

The reverse order only applies to adjective + noun and owner + noun Red shirt = baju merah

Ali’s house = rumah Ali

3.1 Hence basic quantities are per normal in sentence:

Five friends = Lima orang kawan

Much money = banyak wang

Many people = ramai/banyak orang

4. Are there really difficult terms? How to say surprise in Malay?

4.1 use expression ‘ like it very much’ or ‘it is a new thing’ to describe the surprise element:

a. Ali sangat suka barang/haiwan/baju itu (notice the order very much like is per normal)

b. Makanan ini makanan bagus kerana rasanya sedap sekali.

5. There are more than one way to reach your goals:

Saya rasa lapar

Saya hendak makan

Saya mahu pergi kantin sekarang

Saya tidak makan semalam

Dapur masih ada nasi? Ada ikan goreng lagi?

Tolong masak untuk saya sekarang
